You do not need to authenticate, or even make a request to our server/website to generate an inbox. You only need to generate a valid keypair locally and request any received mails from our server later on.
The userpart (the shit that comes before @ in an email address) is a base36 encoding of your NaCl public key.
The second a mail reaches our SMTP daemon, KIKemail encrypts the contents to the corresponding public key and stores the ciphertext in a database (trust me bro).
You then request to see your inbox, our server responds with the ciphertext, and only the keyholder can decrypt it (hopefully).
A handy JavaScript keypair generation and email decryption tool can be found on this web page, although you are encouraged to audit it or work locally.
